Registration will be open from 1pm until 1:45pm. You must bring your e-ticket with you on the day to gain entry to the event.
The world record attempt will be taking part during the Southend Air Festival in one of the main arenas, just past the Casino. The World Record we are attempting to break in the largest amount of people simultaneously doing the Super Dance in 80’s clothing. The current Guinness World Record Stands at just under 369 people so we need everyone to get together and help set a new record in Essex!
The Record Attempt
We will be attempting to set the new record at 2pm, following a trial run. It is really important that you follow the rules and regulations as set by the Guinness World Record or you cannot be counted in the record attempt. Everyone who takes part in the record attempt will receive a medal.
What you will need to do!
When you arrive on the day, please ensure you are wearing at least two items of clothing associated with the 80’s. Please ensure you are well versed in the dance moves! You can watch the instructional video on You Tube or via the blog. On the day of the event, we will have dancers on stage for you to follow. Anyone who does not complete all the moves correctly will not count towards the final number put forward for adjudication.
How will it be adjudicated?
The Guinness World Records set out very strict guidelines as to how the attempt will be adjudicated. The final dance attempt will be filmed and pictures taken as supporting evidence. All this will be sent to the Guinness World Records who process our application and inform us whether we have successfully set a new World Record!
As this is such a unique event we have decided to set one team fundraising target! We are hoping to raise £10,000 for Havens Hospices during this challenge.
